The Measure of Your TestimonyPosted: January 7, 2013
You Can Only Teach What You Know
“…We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness” (John 3:11).
One cannot teach what one does not yet know. However, every Christian has the word of his/her testimony. None of us has all the answers to life to satisfy all the questions of skeptics. Even pertinent Scripture references will not satisfy the closed-minded. Yet we have our personal testimony, and can declare it in all integrity.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” (Rev. 12:11).
Ultimately, it is not our job to convince people, that is the job of the Holy Spirit. They either believe our testimony or reject it, and thereby reject Christ.
“For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God” (John 3:19-21).
